Flooding possible again in Iroquois County

As of Feb 6, 2006 1 to 1 1/2 inch of rain has fallen in Iroquois county, the Iroquois river is expected to be a proximately 2 feet over flood stage by Friday evening.

There are roads closed throughout the county where water has crested over the road, if there are barrackaded, do not go around them even if there is no water on the road. The road may not be passable due to washout or instability. The barrackaded are there for your safety.

if you are concerned about more flooding as the water begins to rise again, it may be beneficial to start sand bagging early. Check with your local municipality for the availability of sandbags your homes. Please be proactive as there may be limited quantities of sandbags and you will need to fill them yourself.

Monitor the local media outlets for any updates. If you are concerned for your safety and need assistance, call 911.
