Update–Flood Warning….
Flood waters are receeding, but a Flood Warning remains for the Kankakee River at Momence and Shelby, IN. Today’s (Tues) reading measured 5.6 feet at Momence. The Flood stage is 5.0 feet. Traffic Relief, Borman re-opens…
East-central Illinois motorists are finding traffic relief now that truck traffic is moving again on I-65 in Indiana. The Borman Expressway in northwest Indiana re-opened at 6:12 pm Thursday, four days after closing due to flooding from heavy rains. The closure had IDOT officials diverting traffic from I-65 and U-S 41 across U-S Route 24. [...]
Floods Postpone River Cleanup
The 25th annual Kankakee River Cleanup for Saturday, September 20th has been postponed due to high water. The event has been pushed ahead to Saturday, October 4th from 8 am ’til 1 pm.
