Traffic Relief, Borman re-opens…
East-central Illinois motorists are finding traffic relief now that truck traffic is moving again on I-65 in Indiana. The Borman Expressway in northwest Indiana re-opened at 6:12 pm Thursday, four days after closing due to flooding from heavy rains. The closure had IDOT officials diverting traffic from I-65 and U-S 41 across U-S Route 24. That resulted in heavy truck traffic through Iroquois County and congestion in the downtown Watseka business district. Coupled with train traffic, Iroquois County motorists this week were finding Watseka traffic at a stand-still.
