ICY ROADS CLOSE IROQUOIS COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL BLDGS —
* Rising temperatures overnight but now it’s wet, sloppy roads to deal with for motorists. A lot of standing water on top of slick, ice-packed roads finds getting around very tricky today. Several vehicles are in ditches. Travel is not recommended. Even snow plows and tow-trucks are reporting trouble doing their jobs.
* The icy conditions forced officials in Iroquois County to close the Courthouse, Administrative Center and Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department buildings in Watseka. Kankakee County law enforcement also suggesting you stay home; several slide-offs reported. Road Commissioners in Newton County say “use common sense” and stay off the roads.
