Special Weather Statement….
Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 4:21 AM EST on February 04, 2010
…Accumulating snow Friday morning through Friday night…
A storm system across The Rockies will approach the mid Mississippi River valley Friday. Snow will overspread northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana early Friday morning. Light snow is expected to continue into Friday evening before beginning to taper off after midnight. Total snowfall accumulations by late Friday night of 2 to 4 inches are expected roughly south of a Streator to Kankakee to Hebron Indiana line…with amounts tapering to 1 to 2 inches along the Interstate 80 corridor and to around an inch across far north central and northeast Illinois including the Chicago and Rockford areas. There is still some uncertainty regarding the exact track this system will take…which will have an impact on locations receiving the greater snowfall accumulations.
