…Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 10 PM CST /11 PM EST/ this evening…
The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow…which is in effect until 10 PM CST this evening.
* Timing…snow…possibly starting as freezing rain or
sleet…will develop early this morning. Precipitation will
transition to all snow by afternoon and continue into the early
evening before tapering off and ending by late evening.
* Accumulations…snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are likely.
* Impacts…snow…sleet and freezing rain will lead to slick
roads this morning. Temperatures are forecast to remain near
freezing…so treated and well traveled roadways should be
wet…however untreated and lesser traveled roadways will likely
become snow covered and travel difficult.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that accumulating snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities…and use caution while driving.
