EARTHQUAKE HITS NORTHERN ILLINOIS
(Pingree Grove, IL) — Illinois residents were shaken by an earthquake early this morning. The USGS downgraded the tremor from a 4.3 to a magnitude 3.8. The quake struck at 3:59 a.m. and the epicenter was about a mile from Pingree Grove and four miles from Gilberts. The quake was felt across the state and as far away as Wisconsin to Tennessee. Reports of shaking came in from across Chicago, Oak Lawn, Elgin, Naperville and even Crown Point, Indiana. There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
