FLOOD ADVISORIES ….

National Weather Service Update: Wednesday, March 17, 2010

There is no immediate threat of flooding in Iroquois County. The Iroquois River and Sugar Creek remain in their banks following weekend rains March 13 and 14th, that produced 1.5 to 2.2 inches of rain (recorded at NWS observation point Watseka 2 NW).

There was minor flooding along Sugar Creek at Milford (17-feet, flood stage of 15-feet).

 

Statement as of 9:23 AM CDT on March 17, 2010

> The Flood Advisory continues for the Iroquois river near Foresman, IN
until Thursday morning.
* At 830 am Wednesday the stage was 16.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast…the river will continue to fall.

> The Flood Warning continues for the Kankakee River at Shelby, IN. At 845 am Wednesday the stage was 9.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Saturday evening.
* Impact…at 10.0 feet…flooding affects County and local roads.
Wildwood Estates and Sumava Resorts begin to experience some
flooding.
