FLOOD WARNING, FLASH FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES….

Flood Warning, Flash Flood Warning
Statement as of 9:09 PM CDT on June 23, 2010

The Flood Warning continues for the Sugar Creek at Milford.
* At 800 PM Wednesday the stage was 21.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…the river will continue to slowly fall and go below flood
stage by Saturday evening.

 

A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 500 am CDT Thursday
for southeastern La Salle…southern will…Kankakee…southern
Grundy…Livingston…Iroquois…Ford and southeastern Cook
counties…

At 838 PM CDT…National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated the
line of thunderstorms that produced heavy rainfall has moved
southeast of the warned area. Despite the threat for heavy rainfall
being over…numerous roads across the warned area remain closed due
to water on roads.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
People along creeks and streams should take immediate action to
protect life and property. Do not drive across flooded roads. Heavy rain has resulted in flooding of roads…viaducts… underpasses…creeks and drainage areas. Do not drive into flooded areas and keep children away from flood waters.
